Switchyards is a shared space. And you’re going to bump into your neighbors. In order for this space to be great, there are a few specific ways that it needs to be used (and not used). Members who routinely violate the rules or are generally disrespectful to other members will be removed from the club.
Please respect the library and do not take calls, meetings, zooms, etc. when working there. And no speakerphone calls anywhere, ever in the club. When in the cafe area, small in-person meetings and chatting are totally fine. If you have a call or zoom in the cafe, please be respectful of your neighbors and keep your volume at a reasonable level. Phone booths (if available) or outside (weather permitting) are always the preferred option.
All locations have either phone booths or meeting rooms for private calls or zooms. They must be reserved in order to use (no drop-ins) and you must check in to confirm your booking. Book a room → switchyards.com/rooms - it takes just 20 seconds.
You will receive a check-in reminder email 30 minutes before your reservation. You will have until 10 minutes after the booking starts to check in. If you do not do this, your room reservation will be canceled and can be rebooked by another member.
Switchyards is designed to be a great place to work, but it isn't meant to be a daily office. As such, we do not allow full meals in the club (snacks are ok). Ultimately, we believe the smells and the mess create a negative experience for everyone else in the club.
We’re creating an entirely different and new product with the neighborhood work club, and in doing so everything is intentional. Around vibe, lights, decor, temperature, furniture, music, and smells. It’s a place where you can dependably get work done. And most importantly, it just feels good to be here. Please visit the Clubguide more on the experience we're creating.
You have a key to this place—it’s your neighborhood work club. And it’s here for you always.
Let’s get after it!
See you around the club,
